The report below is a sample built into this page. Press Read this report and watch the values move into the form. The real tool does the same with a PDF or a photo the patient chooses.
Sample Diagnostic Lab
The problem it fixes
A calculator or a report explainer is only useful if the patient types the right numbers into it. Most do not. They type the reference range instead of the result, mix up units, or give up halfway and call the clinic.
The usual fix is to ask patients to upload their report. That means storing medical records, which brings consent, security and storage costs that a small practice should not take on just to fill a form.
What it does
- Accepts a PDF from the lab or a photo taken on the phone
- Reads the report inside the browser. The file never leaves the patient's phone, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to secure
- Picks out the values the tool needs, puts them in the form, and asks the patient to check them before they are used
- Falls back to typing when a photo is too blurred to read
- Works on any page that asks for numbers: risk calculators, report explainers and children's growth charts
How it runs day to day
There is nothing to run. The reader is a small piece of the page itself, with no server and no database behind it. Adding it to a new calculator means telling it which values that calculator needs.
