A dental lab that sells to clinics, not to patients

Brand, website and the software behind it, built from nothing: the identity, the case submission a dentist fills in on the phone, the board the bench runs the day on, and the warranty card that issues itself on delivery.

Homepage of nexdentindia.com: A prosthodontist checks every case

The brief

NexDent is a dental prosthetic laboratory. Its customer is not a patient looking for a dentist, it is a dentist deciding where to send a crown. That changes everything about the site. A lab does not need a booking button, it needs a dentist to trust the work, understand the warranty, and be able to send a case without a phone call.

There was no brand to work from. No logo, no colours, no photographs, no copy. The lab had a prosthodontist who checks every case and a standard of work it wanted stated plainly, and that was the whole starting point.

What we built

  • Logo and identity designed from scratch, then rolled through the site, the print sheet and the QR codes
  • A website written for dentists: what the lab makes, the preparation guidance we need from the chair, and what the warranty actually covers
  • Six technical diagrams drawn by hand, from zirconia connector design to the denture neutral zone, because a stock photograph cannot explain a margin
  • Digital case submission with a tooth chart, shade, photographs from the phone camera shrunk before upload, and a printable paper sheet for clinics that still want one
  • Case tracking the dentist can open from the phone, showing nine stages and the time each one was reached
  • A lab board for the technicians: what is due, what stage every case is at, a remarks box written at the bench, and a printable A4 work order to hand a job over
  • A digital warranty card, issued automatically the moment a case is marked delivered, sent to the patient over WhatsApp or printed at true card size
  • A careers page with CV upload, and acknowledgement email sent from the lab's own domain rather than a third party address

The part that took the most care

The warranty card is patient-facing, so it states only what the lab has actually committed to: that it covers physical damage, that NexDent remakes the work, and that a claim goes through the clinic. No exclusions are printed, because none were given to us. Writing a warranty that a patient reads means writing nothing the lab cannot stand behind.

How it runs now

The site and the software are one system, not a website with an app bolted on. A dentist submits a case, the lab board picks it up, every stage change is stamped with the time it happened, the clinic can see that from its own phone, and on delivery the warranty card issues itself with its own number. Nobody at the lab has to remember to do it.

The whole thing is audited at phone, tablet and desktop widths before it ships: no sideways scroll, no tap targets too small to hit, no text under eleven pixels, and no colour contrast failures anywhere on the site. That audit is part of every build we do, not something extra you pay for.

It has not stopped either. The board gained case entry dates, a full stage history and the printable work order after the lab had been using it for a fortnight and told us what was missing. That is what the care plan is for.
